If you love cupcakes like we do, there’s nothing you crave more than a good bakeshop. With one location in Washington, DC, and another in Bethesda, MD, Georgetown Cupcakes offer some of the best cupcakes. Owners Katherine Kallinis and Sophie LaMontagne started shop in 2008 and their venture has been successful ever since. When it comes to their cupcakes, Georgetown Cupcakes provides a variety of mouth-watering flavors. Everyday choices vary from their gooey Chocolate Ganache to their delicious Red Velvet cupcakes. However, they also offer tantalizing special and seasonal selections. Out of the bakery’s 24 special cupcake flavors, some favorites include the Toffee Crunch, the Chocolate PB Chip, Chocolate Coconut, and the Lava Fudge. But with the bakery’s season flavors, like Caramel Apple, Pumpkin Spice, and White Chocolate Peppermint, you’re going to wish it was a holiday every day. To check which day or month offers which flavor, check the Georgetown Cupcakes website.Alongside their delicious everyday treats, Katherine and her sister Sophie have pushed the boundaries in cupcake making. In the past, custom orders have included a fire truck made completely out of cupcakes, as well as a multicolored Mardi Gras mask for St. Judes.Cupcakes cost 2.75 individually, while a dozen costs 29 and a half dozen costs 15. Store hours are 10am -9pm for most of the week, but the bakery does have alternate hours on Sunday (11am-7pm).If you don’t live in D.C. or Maryland, no worries, you can at least watch the bakery’s creations on TV. “DC Cupcakes” allows you to drool over the bakery’s delicious treats, but also, to watch just how creative the girls get with their custom orders.
